Privacy policy

Lonsdale Street Roasters is operated by Lonsdale Coffee Group Pty Ltd (ABN 32 165 454 197), 1 Dairy Road, Building 2, Unit 5, Fyshwick ACT 2609. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you shop with us, subscribe, or get in touch, what we do with it, and how you can access or correct it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

  • Your details: name, email, phone number, and delivery and billing addresses.
  • Orders and subscriptions: what you buy, your coffee, size, grind and delivery frequency, and your order and subscription history.
  • Your account: the email you sign in with and your saved preferences.
  • Messages: anything you send us by email, phone or our contact forms.
  • Business details: if you apply for an office or wholesale account, your business name, ABN and the contact details you give us.
  • Website use: device, browser, IP address and how you use the site, collected through cookies and similar tools.

Card details: payments are processed by Shopify Payments, Shop Pay and PayPal. We never see or store your full card number.

How we use it

  • To process, roast, pack and deliver your orders, and to run your subscription, including renewal reminders and anything you change from your account.
  • To send order confirmations, tracking and other emails about your orders and account.
  • To answer your questions and look after any problems with an order.
  • To send you news and offers, but only if you have said yes to marketing. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also email us to be taken off the list.
  • To understand how the site is used and to show our ads to people likely to be interested.
  • To prevent fraud, keep the site secure, and meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the services that help us run the business, and only what they need:

  • Shopify: hosts our store, checkout and customer accounts.
  • Loop Subscriptions: runs our coffee subscriptions.
  • Australia Post and our shipping software: to print labels and deliver your parcel.
  • Payment providers (Shopify Payments, Shop Pay, PayPal): to take payment.
  • Google: for site analytics and advertising, including customer lists for ad measurement, and for our email.
  • Our accounting and wholesale ordering software: for invoices and wholesale accounts.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

Information stored overseas

Some of these providers store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States and Canada. We use established providers that protect personal information. You can read Shopify's own privacy policy at shopify.com/legal/privacy.

Cookies

Our site uses cookies to keep your cart and sign-in working, remember your preferences, measure site traffic and support our advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may not work properly without them.

Keeping it safe and how long we keep it

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. We keep order and payment records for as long as Australian tax law requires, which is generally five years. We keep other information only while we need it for the purposes above.

Accessing or correcting your information

You can update most of your details yourself by signing in to your account. To ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to correct it, or to ask us to delete it, email sales@lonsdalestreetroasters.com. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first, and some records, such as tax invoices, must be kept by law.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, email us first and we will try to put it right. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Children

Our store is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect information about children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
